History of the North Port Symphony
The North Port Symphony was founded in 1983 by a handful of local residents who were interested in playing music for their own pleasure as well as for the community. St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church served as the Symphony’s home until November of 2001 when we moved to our current home in the Music Suite adjacent to the Performing Arts Center on the North Port High School Campus. The Symphony is composed of amateur and professional musicians. Programs include classical, contemporary and popular music. The goal of North Port Symphony is to promote charitable and educational activities in North Port, Florida. The North Port Symphony is happy to celebrate our 32nd year with our audience and friends and look forward to a wonderful 2015-2016 season. We hope you enjoy our performances featuring talented artists along with great music of all kinds in our five-concert series.
The North Port Symphony is a non-profit organization composed of volunteer and professional musicians. Your support enables us to continue to provide quality concerts for the community and encourage the love of music through our education programs. You may wish to give a personal gift of cash or join the growing list of businesses who have graciously contributed. All donations are tax deductible and receive acknowledgement in all of our promotional materials. Volunteers are critical to the symphony for everything from making coffee and setting up stage to fund raising and marketing. Please contact us to join the symphony or volunteer to help.
