A Little Night Music (February 23rd, 2020 3:00pm)

The North Port Symphony wants to welcome in spring with great music of mystery, wonderment and optimism. Weaving together a nocturnal tapestry of sounds, we present to you, from Mozart to Sondheim to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, “A Little Night Music.”

Aaron Romm earned a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where he studied with Allan Cox.  He completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied with Ronald Romm, Dr. Jake Walburn, and Charles Daval.  Prior instructors include Carole Dawn Reinhardt, Bernard Adelstein, and Victor Mongillo.

Dr. Aaron Romm’s solo performances and masterclasses have taken him from his hometown of Sarasota, Florida, throughout the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, and South Korea…then back to Florida, where he performs with the Venice Symphony Orchestra, and frequently with the Sarasota Orchestra.

He is proud to perform on international stages in the versatile two-trumpet-and-piano ensemble The Romm Trio, with his parents, trumpet legend Ronald Romm and Steinway Artist Avis Romm.  They were featured artists for the 2019 Jazz Trumpet Festival in Brazil this past October.

Prior to his appointment at State College of Florida, Dr. Romm taught at Illinois State University, and he currently serves as the instructor of trumpet at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, and is a busy trumpet coach for band and orchestra programs in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.

When Aaron is not performing on stage, he performs behind the microphone as a voice-over artist and audiobook narrator.
