Guest Artist: Alexa Lowrey

Alexa Lowrey made her North Port Symphony debut in 2014 where she performed to rave reviews, and is happy and excited to return with this South Florida cultural icon. A native Floridian, Alexa has seemed destined for the stage since she was one year old, when selected out of 50 contestants to be the Ruskin Tomato Queen. She has been treading the boards ever since. Now at age 21, she has had many roles throughout her College and Regional Theater career. At NYU Steinhardt, she recently played the cut-throat character Eve Harrington in Applause, and River in a contemporary song cycle by Joey Contreras entitled In Pieces. Professionally, her credits include the title role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Alice in The Addams Family, Mrs. Mayor in Seussical, and ensemble in several operettas including The Pirates of Penzance.

Currently, Alexa is obtaining her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance: Musical Theater at NYU Steinhardt in New York City. At NYU, she is able to work with teachers who have performed on television and stage, learning everything she needs to achieve her dream of performing on Broadway. The staff at NYU Steinhardt continues to bring in notable members of the Broadway community such as actresses Jenna Collela (Come From Away) and Betsy Wolf (Falsettos, Waitress), an agent from Tara Rubin Casting, and the founder of Broadwayworld.com, Beth Stevens, letting the students ask questions and learn from those with experience about the business they are going into.

Alexa is loving the city life, but is excited to be back home, performing at one of her favorite venues. She also wants to especially thank her mom for her tireless effort and support.
